The DIY Network now has a 5 part series on putting in a home theater system in your home. The series is very informative, and I would highly recommend this series to anyone wanting to install a home theater system in their home. You might want to make sure you record it to use as a reference as you go through the process. Even if you are not inclined to design, and install the home theater system yourself, this series will help you work better with the company you hire to build your home theater.
Below is a list of the episodes in the 5 part series. DIY Net also has a schedule posted listing when the episodes will be airing. DIY periodically replays all of their series. Also, DIY and HGTV are both owned by Scripps Network, so you might also watch for this series on HGTV.
- Big Screen, Surround-Sound, Great Gear - Episode DHTW-101
- Designing Your Home Theater - Episode DHTW-102
- Building Walls, Floating a Floor - Episode DHTW-103
- Acoustic Treatments and Electronics - Episode DHTW-104
- Big Screen and Projector, Calibration, Remote Set-Up - Episode DHTW-105
Note:
For those that are trying to decide what type of large screen technology you should buy, you should make a definite effort to see the first episode (DHTW-101) because it talks about the different technologies that are available, and gives a run down of the pros and cons that each offer.
